TOP TIPS:

Slow and steady pressure

FOR BEST RESULTS: We strongly recommend avoiding the use of excessive force on the caulking gun when applying Fix-A-Floor. Instead, it is advisable to apply gentle pressure, pause for 6-8 seconds after each pull of the trigger, this will prevent a build-up of pressure inside the bottle. If you see adhesive dripping from the back of the tube, you are applying too much pressure, so slow down.

With a nozzle diameter of only 2-3 mm, (even less if using the syringe adapters) it is crucial to apply gentle pressure and allow a short pause to allow the solution to gently flow out of the nozzle. To ensure optimal results, it is recommended to follow this pattern: pump, pause for 6-8 seconds and pump again. In this way, you will achieve a constant flow of adhesive and achieve perfect coverage.

Unlike silicone, Fix-A-Floor does not need to be forced out of the tube as it has a low viscosity. One way to check that the pressure is still ejecting adhesive is to pull the nozzle out of the orifice, if you see that the adhesive is still flowing naturally from the nozzle, then the pressure you have applied is sufficient, so the key is to pause between pumping.

It is also important to make sure that the tip of the bottle is not pushed directly onto the subfloor, as this will prevent the adhesive from flowing out.  Any of these reasons can lead to a build-up of pressure inside the pipe, there is only one way for it to come out and that will be from the back of the tube!.

Locating voids

To locate voids around the grout line gently tap the tile with a knuckle or wooden dowel listening for potential voids. Mark potential areas with a piece of chalk.

No grout? No problem!

If you have removed the grout around the problem areas, you can apply Fix-A-Floor to these areas as if you were drilling holes into the grout. If you have tiles that move slightly, apply Fix-A-Floor along the grout line and gently step on the tile. The movement of the tile will pull the adhesive under the area. Repeat until the area is completely filled with repair adhesive.

Save the Dust!
