Getting the Best from Fix-A-Floor – A Quick Tip for Perfect Application

We’re thrilled to see so many professionals and DIYers choosing Fix-A-Floor to solve loose and hollow flooring issues, but we’ve noticed a small challenge some users are facing: adhesive leaking from the rear of the tube.

💡 The good news? It’s not a fault – just a sign the adhesive is powerful and needs the right application technique. Here's how to ensure a clean, controlled fix every time:

  • Use gentle, steady pressure when using a caulking gun – pause for 7-10 seconds in between pumps. This helps ensure any excess adhesive has left the tube. Remember, technique is the name of the game.
  • The nozzle tip is under 2mm wide (especially when using micro syringe adapters), so let the adhesive flow at its own pace. Avoid exerting too much pressure.
  • Before you start securing loose tiles, make sure the tip is cut properly and the tube is held vertically or at a slight angle.
  • For best results, we recommend using a 10:1 thrust ratio caulking gun, although any type will work with proper care.
  • Always cut away enough plastic at the top of the tube before attaching the nozzle to allow proper flow.
  • Any excess on your gun? Just wipe clean with a damp cloth or wash in warm water! This will prevent it from clogging.

Remember: A little patience goes a long way – take your time, avoid applying too much pressure, proper technique means no mess and a perfect bond.

At Fix-A-Floor, we don’t believe in letting good adhesive go to waste! We’re here to help you get the most from all our products every time.
